Though the article describes 30 before 30, I encourage clients to continue working on these skills throughout life.
Namely the following:
1. You cannot compare your path to anyone else's.
I cannot stress enough how important your individual path is for YOU and YOU alone. Do not compare yourself with others, as there truly is no comparison.
2. Your life is a reflection of how well you know yourself.
For you to successfully live the life you deserve, you must lay a strong foundation. This means you must get to know yourself- all the ins and outs of how you work, what makes you happy, sad, excited, bored- and build your life around positive influences.
3. To be productive you have to remove distractions.
This means getting rid of all the toxic "stuff" in your life. This includes poor habits, negative people, etc. Free yourself of the negative so you can get busy living a healthy and fruitful life!
4. Trust is built through actions, not words.
Not only are actions crucial for relationship building, but also actions are imperative for conveying integrity and setting an example for those who look up to you (children, subordinates, friends, etc.).
And most importantly...
5. Your body is your temple.
Treat it well. Treasure it. Nurture it. This means eating well, drinking plenty of water, but even more vital, self-care. You must take time to love yourself, take breaks from strenuous/stressful activity, and spend time resting your brain and enjoying whatever it is in this one life that makes you truly happy to be alive.
